I’ve heard, seen, and played around with different green smoothie recipes. This morning I finally found a cocktail, my taste buds like, and my stomach will handle. I make a smoothie every morning and not just a “green smoothie”. It all depends on how I feel in the morning and sometimes I’ll make another smoothie in the mid afternoon as well. Sorry TMI but I can attest that these smoothies really help w/natural daily regularity.
Green Smoothie Benefit:
- Increased fiber intake
- Increased energy
- Weight loss
- Better intake of fruits & vegetables
My tastes are: more fruits other than green apples to mask the spinach taste. I’m not a fan of spinach or kale in my smoothies so fruits are a godsend!!
Ingredients (I have a single serve cup)
1 – Banana
1/2 – Green apple
2 tbls – Pomegranate seeds
1 tbls – Protein powder
1/2 – Cup of coconut water or liquid of choice (add more if needed)
1/4 – Cup of spinach or veggie of choice (preferably leafy greens) I use the smallest amount since I don’t like it
My ninja blender comes w/a single serve cup if you have that excellent if not blend as normal and transfer smoothie to your to go cup 🙂
1) Chop up banana & apple, 1/4 cup of spinach and add to cup to blend.
2) Toss in remaining ingredients: Pomegranate, protein powder, and lastly coconut water.
3) Push down ingredients if you need. Blend until smooth and enjoy!
